Music Tuesday #214: Catch that catchy tune

This is another pearl that has all of 54 views at the time of writing this blogpost. There is just so much out there.  I wonder what it takes for bands to be picked up by the general public nowadays?  It guess it must be so hard to get noticed.

This is the kind of rock music I like: there is an urgency to the song, it builds up and has a couple of nice hooks and packs a punch.  This is power music that doesn't need to drown vocals in a wall of guitars.

The song goes out in a crescendo before fading along guitar feedback.  It is all so classic, but nicely done.
I am sure you will enjoy this one.  Maybe they will not become your favorite band, we will need to see more original songs.  But hey, this very good stuff that can go on your high-rotation playlist anytime.

Music Tuesday #083: The Belgian Stooges

When everything is the same and you can't find any change in an endless monotone landscape you would be bored to death.  That is why people go to the sea or climb mountains.  When there is an end, a cravasse, a feature which is unique there you will find mankind.  We need something else to feel alive.  I will give you La Muerte this week.   Although the name sounds like they're a Latin band, they're definitely not. Do you know them?  They have been a band from Brussels since 1983.  And just like Brussels who gets its character by being squeezed between the Flemish, Walloon and European expat forces, these guys have been molded by many musical trends and influences.  As a result, think blues meets heavy-metal, with some synth thrown for good measure.  This is not for the fainthearted. But this does cleanse the soul. La Muerte - Crash Baby, Crash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR3SH6lGBZk

Music Tuesday #176: Success is a fleeting moment

This week marks the 4th year that this blog has been running.  Countless times I have almost given up, the stress of coming up with new songs and writing something about it is not a mere trifle. This week I was thinking about bands that missed their opportunity to become hugely successful, not that you must pursue this of course.  But sometimes bands disappear from the scene just before they will make it.  And that's a pity. The band I present to you split just when their breakthrough was imminent.  Maybe, in true punk style, they didn't want success?  I don't blame them.  Ultimately everyone should be allowed to make that choice.  Success is not a guarantee for happiness I guess. Music Tuesday #212: Welcome to the AA

This band is not neutral, this song certainly isn't.  I like music that has something to say.  Enjoy. Anti-Flag - American Attraction (Acoustic) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6INbXgIB6P0 Anti-Flag - American Attraction (Original version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w008c1-fHIk
