Music Tuesday #187: Sweet Krautrock from the 10s

I heard this song during a sweltering summer morning at my favorite coffee place.  Yes, I am one of those.  No, I am not a hipster.  This tune is 10 years old now, conceived during the height of the green hipster wave.  Where bearded youngsters wearing a bun caused pubs to become coffee bars.  Since then we order a Long Black instead of a large, strong coffee.  Enough said about that.  Why might you be interested in this?  Well, the main artist of Beak is Geoff Barrow, whom you may know from another band called Portishead.  So you will get a dark atmosphere, massive reverb on the, and therefore unintelligible, vocals.  A catchy riffs and understated solo's. Best to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee while reading your favorite magazine. On paper. Wulfstan II - Beak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytSe1atXG-c

Music Tuesday #186: Retro Alternative and a bright future

Heard this one on the radio.  I then try to remember the band and song title.  Very hard, you basically have to look it up immediately or you'll forget.  This blog is as much a hobby as a way not to forget about all the great songs I come across.  As said many times before, there is just so much music to discover.  I am convinced that music curators will be the stars of the next decades.  Move over DJs!  People will follow those who have done the hard work for them.   Now I just need to find a business model for this. Music Tuesday #185: White Flemish Trash

Delightfully evocative music today. I will keep it short so you can fully focus on the experience.  This is once again a very well kept secret for real music enthusiasts.  From the album "White Flemish Trash". Mercelis - Extremadura https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8xbFogs0vs
