As you may have come to expect I'm taking a summer break from my weekly duty of delivering music to you that has caught my attention.  Let's keep it on the lighter side (obscure reference to the late and great Keith Laumer) this week. You don't have to go to extremes to create a great song.  You can take all the known ingredients and make something that everyone will recognize but still it's fantastic.  Just like your mother's lasagna. Is this a mashup of 50 years of blues and rock? Yes, do you hear elements of many great bands in one song? Absolutely.  So is it any good then? Well, you can be the judge of that.  But I thoroughly enjoyed it.   Like my mother's lasagna.   Can't remember the last time I had lasagna though. Sometimes I spend too much time selecting new music for the blog.  This week was a particular tough episode.  This band almost didn't make it, mainly because of the production quality.  It has something to do with the distorted guitars which seems to drop out or dip randomly. It kind of annoys me and makes me focus on the mix rather than the music.  All in all this is a very nice metal album. Especially at the 5 minute mark the song made me think about Indukti and Tool.  Two bands which I very much like to listen to.  Watch out, with some more variation in the songs and better production these guys may make it big on their next record.  Let's give them a chance! Humor, one of the most important things in life.  I am convinced that as long as you have fun or a laugh on a daily basis you will have a good chance of leading a fulfilling life.  In order to improve the quality of life of my avid readers (of which there are suddenly up to 500 a week!), I give you a bunch of gnomes with moves that will make you jealous.  I wasn't expecting this kind of video, it made me forget to listen to the music, but what a laugh they got out of me.  I am a fan.
