Music Tuesday #214: Catch that catchy tune

This is another pearl that has all of 54 views at the time of writing this blogpost. There is just so much out there.  I wonder what it takes for bands to be picked up by the general public nowadays?  It guess it must be so hard to get noticed. This is the kind of rock music I like: there is an urgency to the song, it builds up and has a couple of nice hooks and packs a punch.  This is power music that doesn't need to drown vocals in a wall of guitars. The song goes out in a crescendo before fading along guitar feedback.  It is all so classic, but nicely done.  I am sure you will enjoy this one.  Maybe they will not become your favorite band, we will need to see more original songs.  But hey, this very good stuff that can go on your high-rotation playlist anytime. Music Tuesday #213: Chew on it

This surprising song, with a simple but oh-so catchy tune, caught me off guard.  After more than an hour of rather disappointing new music I went through this song popped up just as was about to give up for this week.   I played it a couple of times before writing this post.  There is nothing particular that stands out in this song, it just works.  I can see this working on a big festival with a crowd chanting "Let it out!" if that every happens for this duo it will be a magical moment.  The Chewgs - Let It Out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyHYNoCRd-8

Music Tuesday #212: Welcome to the AA

This band is not neutral, this song certainly isn't.  I like music that has something to say.  Enjoy. Anti-Flag - American Attraction (Acoustic) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6INbXgIB6P0 Anti-Flag - American Attraction (Original version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w008c1-fHIk

Music Tuesday #211: I'm with stupid

A long time ago I would roam the winter beach of the North Sea in the middle of the night to think of nothing.  When I finally got cold to the bone, often after getting wet because of the rain coming down in a light drizzle, I would return to my student housing. I'd warm up, drink tea and listen to this song. The acoustic guitar dead center, Aimee singing up close the mic on the right channel, the harmonies with the backing vocals, the longing clean guitar in the middle of the song. This music is just perfect while warming your hands around a hot cup, sipping now and then. Let your mind wander, just like I have done so many times. And ponder the worldhood of the world as such.
