Music Tuesday #125: Running in Circles

An uptempo and catchy song today.  The drums are on a mission, this is clear from the very beginning of the song.  This is punk with a lot of pop elements.  It is catchy and is full of energy.  Just what you need to start daily chores.  This will help you to get them done.  I've been listening to this a couple of times on YouTube and the view counter is currently at 3.  Click on the link below and give them a boost.  Better still, by the album. Music Tuesday #124: Lake Lanterns

There is so much great music coming out, more than I will ever be able to listen to and that makes me sad.   What makes me happy though is finding pearls like today's Lanterns on the Lake.  This Indie band calling from Newcastle makes this haunted music which doesn't have any hit potential during a first listening session.  And that's alright.  In itself there is nothing exceptional or new in terms of music, sound of production.  But the combination of the beautiful voice of Hazel Wilde, the reverb on the guitar and the sparse drums spiced with enough space between the instruments creates a magical trip for the listener.   It took me 14 years to discover them, you're not too late to do so now too. Music Tuesday #123: Mazzel

I so wish I could go back to 1994.  I am still discovering music from the early nineties almost 30 years on...  Am I the only one thinking Lana Del Ray here? This the perfect soundtrack to the first Covid lockdown anniversary.  Mazzy Star - Fade Into You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4m5jQy5A2U

Music Tuesday #122: A bit of fun

Mother Iron Horse.  No it is not my new password but one of the fastest growing bands out of Witch City (used to be called Salem, check it out what they did in the past).  It's doom, it's stoner, but also intense and with a proper growl to underline the drum snare which is so fat that it, as one review called it, qualifies for a gastric bypass.   The low value production is reminiscent of bad 80s horror movies that went straight to VHS.  Yummy. Music Tuesay #121: Uplifting music

I love the mix of styles and they way it evokes the sounds and smells of my favorite coffee shop (shout out to "de dingen") on a Saturdaymorning...  A great song to start longing for better times and meeting friends... loads of them. Sault - Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTdRtdid9wQ
