Music Tuesday #096: School's out, I'm out (for summer)

Staying on the lighter side today as this the last post before he summer holiday break.  See you on the other side, somewhere close to September with the run up to #100.  I wonder what that one will be about? Music Tuesday #095: bizarro, series 7: Wacko Traditionalists

You may know Baby Metal, but do you know  Wagakki Band?  I've got a double dip for you to enjoy this week. Even if you wanted to skip this, look at the Youtube video, starting from 2:30.  Never seen a shamisen or koto played this way.  The shinobue can't probably be played in any other way.  I personally got a bit of a difficult moment at 4:10.  But for you we watch all featured songs at least three times.  I've got permanent brain damage, I am sure.  I also learned that having a flute in your mouth makes it tough to look "metal". Music Tuesday #094: Feel the moment

My Instagram feed looks mainly like this:  https://www.instagram.com/creepmachine/  (Beautiful, unusual, dark, and surreal art).  So I like the fantastical, the weird and non-conformist stuff. This song is the perfect music score to that.  Also, I have been warming up to using electronic music elements in heavy music.  It opens so many possibilities, so much room to experiment.  BTW, check out Camel Dancefloor by Igorrr .  Heavy without any traditional heavy metal.  Back to this week's band though.  In The Moment took 15 years and seven albums to appear on my radar.  How did I not notice Maria Brink all that time?  Quite an appearance and what a voice!  Check out the new album titled "Mother" with a very nice opening cover "Fly Like An Eagle" (Steve Miller). Some songs are too much pop for me, but the voice of Maria on top makes it all a-OK.  Apparently this is going to be one of those albums that will grow on us, let's see then. Within 3 minutes you will ha

Music Tuesday #092: Memento Mori

This video is better produced and more scary than most horror movies made in the last decade.  Great song, interesting story but lyrics wise not exceptional.  This is about a guy who sees more and more monsters as he absorbs bad news from the outside world. Memento Mori, remember your own mortality.  These guys have perfect timing. And a great song.
