Psychonaut, yes I know another one, is a progressive metal band from Belgium which brings a song that is both dense and vast, with deceptively simple and engaging melodies broken up by complex rhythm drums and distorted screams. All that I mean in the nicest possible way. This song features members from Amenra and Brutus as well. I might as well kickstart 2024 with this, so here it goes:

When everything is the same and you can't find any change in an endless monotone landscape you would be bored to death. That is why people go to the sea or climb mountains. When there is an end, a cravasse, a feature which is unique there you will find mankind. We need something else to feel alive. I will give you La Muerte this week. Although the name sounds like they're a Latin band, they're definitely not. Do you know them? They have been a band from Brussels since 1983. And just like Brussels who gets its character by being squeezed between the Flemish, Walloon and European expat forces, these guys have been molded by many musical trends and influences. As a result, think blues meets heavy-metal, with some synth thrown for good measure. This is not for the fainthearted. But this does cleanse the soul.
