Music Tuesday #115: Weltschmerz
The last (?) album by Fish takes from the untranslatable German concept of the melancholic feeling of a deep sadness about the imperfection of the world. This is an exclusive feeling reserved for perfectionists I guess.
Sometimes you need something to soothe your soul. The quality of music and the quality of sound on this recording is very high. As with a lot of progressive music, you will need multiple listening sessions to experience all the different things going on at the same time. There is satisfaction to be found in the process.
A hallmark of progressive music are the long songs. This album fits in that tradition coming in at over 84 minutes for 10 songs.
