Music Tuesday #082: Turkish Delight

There are a handful of concerts in my life where I listened to bands I had never heard of before. This week's singer came onto the stage with such a strong voice and such panache that I totally forgot to move on to my original destination: the concert by Lou Reed at the same time at this festival.  Never did see Lou Reed live again.  But then, I was happy to have been exposed to Sertab Erener.  That was at Folkfestival Dranouter 2000 by the way.  Since then I know what it means to have your socks knocked off.

I have listened to the 1999 album "Sertab" on and off for the last 20 years, because it is the only way to relive that memory of a perfect evening and a perfect show.
